Stray Cat Climbs Through a Window, Decides to Move In, and Becomes the Sweetest Companion
A stray cat climbed through a window and decided it was time to settle into a home. He soon proved to be the most lovable companion.

Clare
Clare, a foster volunteer for Saving Stevie (a cat rescue organization), has been dedicated to helping community cats in her area. A few years ago, she noticed a new face on her front steps.
An orange-and-white cat, skittish and cautious, wandered onto her property in search of food. Despite his wariness of people, his hunger kept bringing him back. For some time, he kept his distance, always running away whenever Clare tried to approach.
Determined to earn his trust, Clare never gave up. Unknowingly, she named him Phoebe, assuming the cat was a girl—and the name stuck.

Each day, Phoebe became a little more comfortable around Clare. As his confidence grew, the distance between them gradually shrank. “I could tell he was interested in me, but too scared to let me pet him,” Clare shared with Love Meow.
“I kept feeding him, and eventually, he allowed me to pet him a little, mostly while he was distracted by eating.”

One day, Clare heard meowing at the door and saw Phoebe peeking through the windows, announcing his arrival. Soon, he began climbing up the window screens to get her attention.
After two years of building trust, and motivated by his growing affection for Clare’s cat, Archer, Phoebe finally decided to become an indoor cat.

With the support of Saving Stevie, Clare welcomed Phoebe inside and set up a quiet room for him to adjust. After exploring his new space and rubbing his face everywhere, he walked up to Clare and purr-meowed loudly for attention.
In less than two weeks of being indoors, Phoebe came out of his shell and transformed into a lovable, affectionate cat.

“He is the sweetest, cuddliest cat I’ve ever had. He’s the definition of a Velcro kitty. I work from home, and if he could, he’d sit in my lap all day, staring at my face or giving me head butts.”
“He just loves to cuddle and snuggle on your chest, but every now and then, he gets a burst of energy and will chase a ball or toss around a toy.”

Phoebe took a leap of faith that day, leaving behind the street life and never looking back. He was captivated by everything his foster family did, eagerly demanding their constant attention and soaking up their love.
He would sit in Clare’s lap while she worked, attending her meetings, offering assistance, and becoming the supervisor she never knew she needed.

Phoebe thrives as the center of attention and is gentle with other friendly cats.
He craves human affection, often draping himself over their chest or wrapping his paws around them, making up for all the years he spent outside.

Yesterday, after many months in foster care, Phoebe’s dream finally came true. He found the perfect forever home where he would live like royalty.

After a few hours of settling in, Phoebe approached his new mom for pets and began following her around the house. Their bond quickly grew stronger.
“He snuggled up and flopped right onto her chest when she got into bed for the night.”

“This has been, by far, the hardest and happiest goodbye of my time fostering. He’s going to bring so many laughs, smiles, and happy memories to his new mama.”
